Assessment & Evaluation

Artifact 1: Usability Testing of a Web Authoring Tool
Description of the Artifact:

The artifact, Usability Testing of a Web Authoring Tool, was created as part of a team project to evaluate and assess how users performed during the testing of a web authoring tool.

Entry Rationale:

This artifact was to evaluate the usability of the web tool and observe the performance of the users as they created an electronic portfolio.  My classmates and I designed the project by creating a list of tasks that related to the usability of the web tool.

Each user was followed up by a survey, where my classmates and I analyzed the usability of the web tool and grasped a better understanding of our users. This artifact allowed me to analyze the information by collecting data from the survey and the observation of the users.  This form of data collecting allowed me to analyze instructional problems within the listed tasks and to identify learning characteristics while observing the users.

Alignment to my Career Goals:

I can identify different instructional strategies by how the users' practice and encourage feedback during the usage of the web tool. This artifact gave me an opportunity to collaborate with my fellow classmates.  Also, it was a great introduction of recognizing the different learning theories and instructional methods that are presented when it comes to improving learning and performance of individuals.
